At last!!!

At long last, we’ve moved in!!

It’s great to be in our own home, and not a rented house where the furniture belongs to someone else.  Although having said that, it was great to have somewhere clean and warm to return to when this house was a building site with no heating apart from the George the builder’s little fan heater.  And the kettle.

Anyway, still loads to be done.  More later!!

Still no Plumbers!

We plan to move in sometime this weekend, or very early next week - and we still haven’t got a bathroom!  Yaargh!!  Why are good plumbers always too busy plumbing to plumb???

The bath has made its way into the bathroom, but is still seriously lacking in the water, taps and waste department.  If the plumbers don’t hurry up, we’ll be known in the neighbourhood as the unwashed.  Eww.

We now have nice new carpet in the bedrooms.

And - yippee!! - my studio nearly has a roof.  And today (not so yippee when you’re halfway through a roof project, which includes deroofing a garage) it started to rain.  We’ve had some very unseasonal good(ish) weather, and had hardly any rain for weeks.  It had to end sometime, but it could’ve waited till my roof was waterproof, surely??

We are gearing up to a bit of box- and furniture-carrying.  Our stuff is in storage, and the storage company has offered us free van hire for a 24-hour period.  Not one to miss out on an offer, we will hopefully be roping in a strong young man (my son) and shift as much of it as possible ourselves.

Watch this space, as they say. (Edit:  see the page on the right hand column - more up to date pics of the studio are in there)
