Handmade Monday 41

So, another week and another Handmade Monday.  I don’t know where time goes but I suspect it’s true that it goes faster the older you get – a little bit like slightly cruel version of a roller coaster.

It continues to be busy here and there’s a lot of family plaques being ordered (and therefore made)

family plaques

family plaques being painted

lots of art hangers (I never tire of making these, they’re such fun)

children's personalised art hangers

children's personalised art hangers

and this is an adaptation of other plaques but I’m listing it on the website too as it’s slightly different:

welcome plaque personalised

welcome to the Reynolds' house

This particular one will be travelling to South Africa next week in a suitcase.  The jute string hanger instead of the wire makes it easier to pack (so there’s no worries about the possibility of misshaped wire).

I’m thinking I may use jute more often instead of wire, but yet again that might be something to put on the ever-growing “January to-do list”.  My reasoning for the delay is that plaques on the website will need rephotographing, then editing and uploading (which is quite a big task given the amount of plaques on my website).  I just haven’t got the time right now.

My “January to-do list” is growing by the day; I think perhaps I will still be working on it in January 2013 ;-)

In other news, in case you missed it (where have you been?) my clock giveaway will be being drawn on Tuesday so there’s not much time left.  That little announcement does mean the much-awaited 100,000th visitor has been and gone (I wish I knew who they were!).

That’s it from me, so welcome to your Handmade Monday . . .

Wendy – that is just too scary having a January to do list… hope that having a rest and sleeping is currently topping it! I really like the jute string, it so suits the design, love it.

    Hi Wendy,
Thanks for another handmade monday and well done on reaching over 100,000 visitors, what an achievement. I like the look of the wire hangers however i find string and ribbon much safer and easier, especially for people like me who given half a chance would end up impaling an eyeball or piercing a nose with a piece of wire! (accidentally of course). x

  23. Oh the weeks are definately getting shorter. I can’t tell you if it is an age thing, as I’m getting older too.

  24. Charters says:

Congratulations on reaching 100,000 visits. A great achievement. I haven’t been around much, so look forward to catching up with you all again. I’ll be watching with great excitement over the next few weeks with all the fantastic projects you all produce. Thanks for hosting Handmade Mondays!

  25. Stephen says:

Congratulations! Now on to 200,000 visitors!

I like the look of the jute but I also like the look of the wire. You could offer the two as options, but it might create a lot more work for you to do.

  26. mcrafts says:

Congrats on reaching 100,000! Wow! Love your little plaque ‘production line’! I like the jute – I made a couple of things using hemp cord – its nice to use a natural material Mich :)
