Special Teachers’ Gift
July 8, 2009 | Posted by Wendy I said yesterday that I love customers’ ideas sometimes. This is one I mentioned briefly yesterday. I am working on a clock at the moment for a customer. It is to give to the teachers at a school, for them to put in their staff room. I think it’s a lovely idea, as it acknowledges all the teachers at the school, which is a great idea when a child is leaving a school and moving on.
This is where I’m up to:

I’ll be adding some colour and pattern onto the cup, and sanding the edges of the clock back for a slightly distressed effect. Then I’ll add some wording around the clock, to the customer’s brief, as well as a child’s name, which I think will sit nicely under the coffeecup. A quick layer or two of satin varnish for protection and there you go! A really fab teacher gift, very different from the usual, and very memorable!
