Portmeirion village is one of those places I’d drooled over in many a photo but never actually visited.  When the heavens opened and poured on us just as we were about to set off for it, we almost didn’t bother.  But the rain cleared up and I’m so glad we went.

I loved the quirky architecture

some of which seemed to grow out of the natural rock it was built on
